Hilton Head Island is located off the southern tip of South Carolina. It has long been the destination choice for travelers worldwide. Early Spanish and French explorers sailed around this area in the 1500's. The island is named for the English sea captain, William Hilton, who surveyed this area for the Lords Proprietors in 1663. Hilton Head Island boasts a long and illustrious history although there are not many buildings left to attest to it. The modern-day plantations are the same boundaries as the old cotton plantations prior to the Civil War. You will be surprised as your local guide shares with you the illustrious history of this area. Warmed by the tropical breezes of the Gulf Stream, lapped by the Atlantic's pristine waters, and framed by twelve miles of ivory sand beaches, Hilton Head Island has proven to be a popular "hub" for group tours visiting the Low Country of South Carolina and Georgia. Nearby Beaufort and Savannah make for exciting day trips. Your group will enjoy historical and cultural tours along with fantastic shopping and fine dining-all in a beautiful setting.
